چکیده
The clinical picture of Ochrobactrum anthropi infection is not well described because the infection is rare in humans and identification of the pathogen is difficult. We present a case of O. anthropi bacteremia that was initially misidentified as Ralstonia paucula and later identified by 16S rRNA sequencing and recA analysis.

Ochrobactrum anthropi bacteremia in a preterm infant with cystic fibrosis
Ochrobactrum anthropi infection in newborn patients is rare, and the treatment is challenging because of its widespread and unpredictable resistance to antimicrobial agents and discrepancies between in vitro susceptibility and in vivo efficacy. We report the clinical and microbiological characteristics of Ochrobactrum anthropi bacteremia in a preterm patient.
متن کاملBrucella vertebral osteomyelitis misidentified as an Ochrobactrum anthropi infection
Ochrobactrum anthropi is a Gram-negative bacillus widely distributed in nature. It is a low virulence and low pathogenic microorganism and human infection by this agent is considered rare. This microorganism can cause bacteremia and in some cases can lead to osteomyelitis and endocarditis. Included in Brucellaceae family, this bacterium is phenotypically and genetically closely related to the B...
متن کاملBiliary sepsis caused by Ochrobactrum anthropi.
Ochrobactrum anthropi is an emerging pathogen in immunocompromised patients, with the majority of human cases being central venous catheter-related infections. In contrast, O. anthropi-related biliary sepsis is much rare. Herein we report the clinical and microbiological characteristics of O. anthropi-related biliary sepsis in order to increase awareness of the potential role of O. anthropi in ...
متن کاملSeptic shock caused by Ochrobactrum anthropi in an otherwise healthy host.
Reported is a case of life-threatening septic shock that occurred in an otherwise healthy host after administration of a peripheral venous infusion of a solution contaminated with Ochrobactrum anthropi, an unusual human pathogen. The rapid onset of shock may have been due to a large inoculum caused by nonsterile practices at the time of reconstitution.
متن کاملOchrobactrum anthropi septic arthritis: case report and implications in orthopedic infections
Ochrobactrum anthropi is a rare cause of orthopedic infections. We report the second case of Ochrobactrum anthropi septic arthritis in the literature. Our case highlights the ability of Ochrobactrum anthropi to cause septic arthritis and its relevance in the field of orthopedic infections.
